Named driver for years-any no claims entitlement?

I started driving in 2006 and drove for a year here as a names driver under my gf's insurance. I was on the provisional all this time.
I then moved to Canada, and drove there for 4 years as a named driver again. So I have been driving over 5 years as a named driver with no claims.
I am back now, and still on provisional license. Should I get any no claims bonus as a named driver? I realise I may have to contact the insurance company in Canada to prove it but, any ideas on qualification for a no claims discount?

Depends on the company. When you have a prov licence alot of them don't recognise the named driving.

You haven't earned any NCB, but some ins cos might give you an introductory bonus. As always, ring everyone for the best quote.

When i started under my own name with quinn, i had to get letter from each company saying x was insured as named driver from date x to date y. My mother had changed company four times in four years. It was torture, but saved a hundred quid. Quinn have a spot on their internet form for named experience.

I called Quinn and they quotes us 450 for the tow of us-not bad at all. They recognise the no claims form canada.
Chill.ie and other websites gave us rates from 850 to 1200! Tesco wouldn't even quote us.
Looks like a phonecall is yer only man.
    Cheers lads

F...orget Chill, they seem to be trying to revive the broker arrangement, i.e. we shop around for the best deal for you and slap €200+ on the price for ourselves. I don't know if anyone has gotten a better quote from Chill versus shopping around for themselves.

By the way, did you not get a full driving license when you were in Canada?

Chill were €600 cheaper then anyone else for me so don't discount them completely.
