South America (Brazil) Summer 2012

    Hey everyone,

I've booked my return flights with British Airways to Rio de Janeiro, so already getting excited about the prospect of three months (June/July/August) in South America. I can already speak a lot of Portuguese so communication won't be a great problem for me, despite the myriad of dialects Brazil is renowned to have. [I've only ever flown within Europe - what's it like for 10-12 hour flights on a Boeing 777 jet, do you get free alcohol included in the price for the duration of the flight - if so, how regular?]

However, has anyone got any advice on what it's like to live in Brazil -- I plan to do a Portuguese course as well to reach fluency but wish to travel as well, be it to other SA countries or within Brazil, given the vast size of the country.

So yeah, any advice you have or recommendations is greatly appreciated. I've already been looking into Amazon and Iguazu Falls. So I think they're already fixed onto my itinerary.

    Cheers! :)
