    · 224,000 to be exempt from universal social charge while increasing rate for those earning €115,000
    · Greater pension reductions for retired public servants, politicians
    · No VAT increase
    · €250m more for capital expenditure in 2012 for labour intensive projects
    · Scrap private pension levy in favour of €5.6 billion investment stimulus
    · Accelerated implementation of Croke Park savings
    · Establishment of an Economic Advisory Council
    · Double the budget for County and City Enterprise Boards
    · Complete the review of bankers’ pay in guaranteed banks
    · 20,000 extra local employment scheme places

Can anyone explain to me how they came to €3.8billion worth of cuts from the proposal above?

You can guarantee that if they were in power they wouldn't do anything like this.

Easy to chat when in opposition. And of course the current Gov are only having to cause pain for us all because of FF and the mess they created.

Little bit if fun with the post there.

On a serious note, it's hard to see anything that raises serious revenue in there and very few cuts.

Unless they think that CPA can actually deliver it all.

This is an insult from these traitors to be honest

After handing over our economic sovereignty they are now trying to pretend they have the answer

Maybe they are counting along the lines of SFs 100k job idea that the stimilus will drive a ton of additional income tax in secondary/tertiary waves (i.e. person building a school buys food at the local spar who buys in more irish chicken etc.)? That and claiming crook park will deliver more savings faster (I'll start with seeing any actual savings myself instead of the guesses and book keeping excercises published so far but meh) I guess is how they add it all up.

    Only guessing mind you.

Fianna FAIL should be banned from making any public statements.

After listening to the Cork prick on The Late Late show, I nearly threw up. Talk about in denialv.Still couldn't or wouldn't take responsibility for the mess they left. He was and still is a disgrace like all Fianna Fail, politicans, councillors and followers. Let us never forget what they done to every family in this country!

I sincerely hope no one is taking anything FF say about the economy seriously.

If their budget proposal comes with a blueprint for a time machine attached - I'm interested. Otherwise, I don't much care what they have to say, now or ever again.

I'm no Fianna Fail supporter but would be a much more informed debate if people read the proposals and comment as opposed to instantly going down the 'they ruined the country, everything they say is rubbish' line...

I've read the full proposal and it does account to 3.8 billion, so read it before flaming. Not saying that I agree with a lot of it, but its there so stop the back of the couch crap..

The one thing that I see as positive is the acknowledgment that there is a problem with lenders forcing massive mortgage SVRs on customers. They didnt push this when in power (as with a lot of other things) but at least its highlighted and raised for debate.

You can't just say that it accounts for 3.8 billion. Please outline why you think it does. Please provide examples

Most of the proposals in the doc are unworkable populist nonsense.

You don't have to go far down the list to see that this is nonsense.

"Accelerated implementation of the croke park agreement " will save 500 million.

What a crowd of clowns FF are ......

The Croke Park agreement should be ripped up
