2002 Mercedes C180 - Replace Radio

Just wondering if it’s possible to replace the radio in a Mercedes C180 2002 car for a more modern radio that has an audio-in input for an MP3 player?

Does anyone have any experience of upgrading radios in a car where the current radio is part of the dash board?

Could you not fit a audio in via cd changer?

Hi there, thanks for your reply. I know little to nothing about car but if iwas using a cd changer wouldn't I need to put the changer in the boot? I'm just look for a more modern radio than the one I have and have it fitted into the car.
    Cheers

I think most audio systems in Mercs of that vintage use D2B optical fibre systems so it will be difficult to change the radio and keep the wheel functions. Does the radio have a tape deck/ if so there is an easy mod to get an mp3 player to work.

    Hi there,
Thanks for your reply. Have you fitted radios into a Merc C Class 2002 before? Would you be able to maintain all the audio control on the steering wheel? How much would you charge?

Can you also advise of a suitable radio?

    Thanks,

    Mick
