Feeling down, for no reason?

    Hi,
I don't really know what to write because I don't quite know how I feel. I feel very strange. I have a good life, good friends and no problems. So why do I always feel so shít? From around last November-May/June this year I felt awful. I was ready to drop out of college, as it was getting too much for me. I stayed on, but around the time of my exams I became very low. I put it down to stress, but mentioned how I was feeling to a teacher. She said I sounded depressed, and to talk to her if I ever needed someone to talk to. Unfortunately, she is off this year after having a baby so I can't talk to her.

I drunkenly mentioned to a friend last night, who has always been very good to me, that Id been having certain thoughts (not that Id ever have the guts lol). He absolutely freaked out and rang me to talk to me properly and even though he was trying so hard to be nice, everything I said just made me feel like I was being more of a burden to him, which really isnt fair.
But like I said, I don't really have any problems, I've no reason to feel like this so why do I?
