    I have a Charge Tap hub geared bike. havent had any problems after 18 months of cycling. Its hard as nails and fast enough... Tell him to go for it, hub gears are the future. Unless you are planning to do the Tour de France or the Wicklow 200.

    Just looking at the photos - it uses an eccentric bottom bracket as many do... they are a little more elaborate than a simple horizontal drop out and some have a tendancy to creak... But even still, these felts are well tested over the years, there shouldn't be any problem.

    I have the felt QX65 for around a year now a nd am very happy with it.
    Great for my short commutes and 40,50k spins.
    Holds up well on some fairly bad back roads too

    Dont know why that site has it down as a mountain bike its definatly a hybrid.Your friend should give it a look
