When I go into my Internet explored on my laptop a new tab keeps opening every 4 seconds. It's really annoying.

Do you think this is a virus? I'm running norton now

If not any ways of stopping it?

Download Malware Bytes and run a scan it will find anything that might be there but also i would advise changing browser to something like Firefox or google chrome as they have better security Hope i helped :)

White Wolf is right about malwarebytes and changing your browser but he is wrong in saying malwarebytes will find everything, no anti-virus, anti-spyware etc will find everything, they all have different capabilities.

You are getting redirected which probably means there is something embedded deep into your system like a rootkit which malwarebytes doesnt usually find.

You need a program called unhackme, its free to download and use.
You will need to disable system restore before you run it so the rootkit cant hide itself.

Change your browser to mozilla firefox with the addons adblock plus and no script.

I wouldnt recommend Norton either, it is not a good anti-virus in my opinion, if it was doing its job you wouldnt be here asking this question.
