Short Course in Fundamentals of Documentary Filmmaking at UCC

    Duration: 2 days (7 hours)

    Time: Saturday 10 December 2011, 2-6 pm and Sunday 11 December 2011, 10am-1pm

    Fee: € 160 – UCC & unwaged: €150

    Deadline for applications: Monday 5 December 2011

    The course is subject to the intake of at least 10 students

    The course will cover:
    • Basics of documentary storytelling.
    • Producing, research, story development, interviewing, writing, cinematography, sound recording and editing.
    • How to finance your film.
    • Fundamentals of D-video shooting, sound recording and editing.
    • The documentary genre: film language, techniques, aesthetics, structure etc.

    Equipment provided for the class includes: 2 cameras Sony HDV, 2 microphones RODE, 1 editing suite Apple Final Cut with projection screen.
