Maybe after todays release we will see how much the bishops of raphoe covered up for their mates and maybe the Gardai might actually get involved and administer justice, even to those resigning just in time for "health reasons"

I'll say what I posted on the news site:

The Catholic organisation moved them around like chess pieces for decades, knowing what they were up to many a time.
...And they have the gall to give out about RTE making one possible mistake about not being frank with the people?

Archbishop of Dublin Diarmuid Martin was critical of the length of time it took RTE to "hold their hands up and admit mistakes were made".
....Remember that when you think about what they did themselves, not in one event like possibly RTE, not for one month, not for one year - FOR DECADES!

Disgraceful - but they want you to conveniently forget about all that!

From what I was hearing, apparently the guy doing it got into no end of bother with the bishops. It might be a little more revealing than they'd like, even though the documentation used is only the stuff willingly surrendered by the diocese.

Yeah, I'd be inclined to believe there was no paper trail, or they simply never handed over the documentation for the worst stuff. No one is going to believe that they were completely without sin, given the Murphy report, though. There's going to have to be discovery of wrongdoing. What level it's at will be interesting, given the dude in Raphoe, who was under 3 bishops while raping 26 boys.

The catholic church should know by now that nobodys going to forget what they did and nobodys going to let them forget it either ...that's what irks them more than anything .

Are you kidding. I bet after i post this and read on past your post I will find that the usual defenders of The One True Church have weighed in with their usual tired old debates.

Yes but underneath that facade of smugness and whatever defense they come out with they know their time has come and gone .

    Shower of bastards.

The faster the straws they clutch onto disappear the better.

Unless you have an Educate Together School in your area this will all change at school age.

The ET organisation is going ahead with more schools and have been given government approval/backing to do so.

Also its not another "anti catholic" thread to me - its an anti-cover-up news topic that is about holding the organisation end of things responsible.

I personally have nothing against Catholics.

They cleverly/wisely decided to release all the reports on the same day.
So that they could get it all over in one go and that all the reports couldn't probably be read in detail by critics/politicians/media orgs/etc in just a few hours.
This organisation is not stupid when its wants not to be.
