Most county boards give a bounty for predator control why, Gun Clubs don't avail of it is beyond me. They cound give the money earned by the members involved in predator control back to them to subsidise their membership for the next year.

Could you give me some more information about where to find out about bounty's for predator control? I didn't know there was such a thing!

Normally the NARGC affiliated county board will pay out a bounty on vermin tails, wings, etc. They get the money from the affiliation fee that they charge each member. The returns are made annually by the club to the vermin control officer of the county board at the annual vermin count. The cheques are handed out once the counts have been confirmed, its up to the club what they do with the money.

I was secretary of our local club and got letter out from NARGC couple weeks ago regarding vermin competition. It's a points based competition for individuals in gun clubs ie mink 20 points etc. Think the prize was 300 quid to winner. Your local gun club prob got same letter, 150 magpie wings would be good tally of points
