Pay as You go Meter- Ran out of Credit and Now Not Working!

We recently swicthed to a pre pay meter and it has been going pretty well up to today. The credit ran out and we hadnt realised until we tried to turn on the heat. Shoulnt have let it get so low but to be honest the shop that sells the credit is 20 minutes away so its a right pain to get there.

Anyway, I went out to the meter to stick on the 5euro emergency credit to get us through the next 12 hours and that seemed okay but when I came in and tried to turn the heat back on, nothing was happening, The pilot on the boiler doesnt appear to be lighting no matter how many times i hit reset. Any ideas?

    Gas meter right?

go back to your meter with your card.
if you can see or have a torch you will see in the bottom right hand corner of the display a digital message saying off

insert card and press and hold the red button for about three seconds
release and press and hold again until it beeps and you will hear the system start up again as it switches on at the meter.
you might have to reset your boiler switch again after this

hope it works, it happens to mine on occasion.
