most of the time they get broke, it's because of the person using it.
I have one of those small ones I got for €4 in Dunnes, SEVEN YEARS and still going.

    I detest umbrellas.

Or more accurately the manner in which some people use them.

They seem oblivious to the fact that they are carrying multi pointed weapons capable of taking the eye out of a passer by.

Some umbrella users carry the damn things so low thet their vision is blocked and they cannot see where they are walking.

But thats ok because in their world they expect other pavement users to GTFO of their way anyway.

And when they do get on the train or bus, they shake the bloody things down at arms length from themselves disregarding anyone else who they drown in the process.

The biggest plonkers are the ones who launch their eye gouging instruments at the first hint of a cloud overhead and keep them aloft long after the light shower has passed. What the hell are they afraid of?

Equally as bad are the twits who had the misfortune to be seated in front of me in Croke Park this September with their parachute sized tents blocking my view. After some polite persuation, they agreed to go to the shop under the stand at half time in the minor match, and invest in a pair of those €5 see through raincoats.

Then we were all happy !

    Get a hat OP.

Here is one shop I'd love to see bulldozed...

    A raincoat.

Umbrellas don't work in wind, break easily, and annoy anyone who has to walk close to you.

Forget E4 in Pennys ... it's Euro-2 for brollies, where they cost 50% less.

    Yes, they break.

    But so do expensive ones.
