Hi, myself and a friend are hoping to run a marathon next year. He would preferably like to run around the May, June or July mark so I was wondering what marathons in Ireland take place around this time, I know the Cork one is around June but would be interested to know what else is on the table? Had a look on runireland.com but their calendar isn't showing anything for 2012 yet. Thanks for your help, farrelli.

Cork is in june. I ran this in 2009 its a typical irish marathon NOT FLAT but nowhere near impossible. If ur looking for a flat marathon do rotterdam in April. There are very few non track races in Ireland that are completely flat im afraid.

At the risk of sounding smart and that's not my intention, put in the training and you won't have to worry about the course.

Cork is one of the easier marathons in Ireland.

That incline starts @ 7 on the falls raod all the way to the zoo @ 14. Its is nearly 300ft of a drag. Probably just a bump for some of the mountain goats here but us poor road plodders find that a struggle.

OP you will not get a Berlin type course in Ireland, so put in the work and you will be able for whatever one yeah decide to do. If its your first and only go for one of the city marathons as the experience will be better.

Thanks a million for all the replies, very much appreciated. I didn't realise that so many took place. Cheers.
