Sweetwater in the states works out pretty cheaply. If you buy it there you can get it shipped for free within the states. I'm hoping to get one this way and have an aunt visiting for christmas carry it over with her.

Yeah I can get it delivered from the States for about 270 so i was wondering if there was cheaper anywhere else.

Is there any issue with buying an american mic(Im very clueless about this stuff)

Getting the mic from the US leaves you liable for 21% Vat and around 4% Duty.

Similarly getting stopped at customs will leave The Aunt liable for the above plus a fine.

Of course you might not get caught.

I bought a keyboard stand from Sweetwater that I couldn't source here for almost half the rrp here (price wasn't the issue though - just couldn't get any shops to get it for me).
Then after paying the freight the saving made on the price was almost gone. I wasn't at home for the delivery, so the courier left the stand with a neighbour, and the courier company came after me for the duty which i had to pay later. The courier will pay the duty at the point of entry into the country and will recoup it from you. I think all in all I paid slightly over the odds than I would have had I could have bought it here.
Sweetwater were grand, the deal just wasn't the great deal I was expecting, buying the stand at half price approx, ended up paying a few euros over the odds here, than had someone being able to get one for me.
Lesson learnt about shipping across the pond though.
    :D

Yeah it all depends who the company uses to ship
fed ex,ups and all courier companys have to declare there products where as usps(post) only get custom checks done on half there parcels so you may get away with it.

I'd love to buy it in europe but cant seem to find it for quite the same price

Not really true, I recently had 250 quid's worth of gear shipped with Fedex and wasn't charged any tax on it, yet got charged on 50 quids worth of clothes with USPS. I've gotten away a good few times with both though, but you can never really know if you'll get caught or not, it's quite random the checks.

She brings home stuff every visit, comes home 2-4 times a year and never once been stopped by customs. Even brought back a jackson Rhoads V in an oversized case before for me and I didn't have to pay a cent! If it's in your luggage you wil not have to pay unless you're very unlucky.
