Nintendo 3DS update delayed to December 8

Nintendo has delayed its 3DS update, set to bring 3D video recording and more to the dual-display handheld gaming console before the end of November, though the new functionality will still arrive in time for the holidays. According to Nintendo, the 3DS system update will now drop on December 8, with the “final stages of internal testing” blamed for the delay.

They didn't blame anything for/mention a delay.
The press release clearly stated the firmware was in the internal testing stage, and that it would be released by December 8th.

Seems demos will almost definitely be coming next week

Madness if true, when the Vita becomes available this kind of crap is really going to embarrass Nintendo. They get away with it now because they've no direct competition. It's not like they havn't had enough time to get this kind of basic incentive rolled out, the console isn't far off a year out in the wild.

Nintendo UK reconfirmed the 2011 to ONM...hmm.

Not like them to announce a delay until the day before anyway

edit: saw someone translate the source as "Available at the beginning of the next year." releasing on the 31st of december would mean they'd be available from the beginning of next year (also).

Hopefully! Looks like they'll either release on the 22nd or 29th..Hoping for the first option

Also releasing this month: The system update, Nintendo Letterbox app (both on the 8th possibly?), Pullblox + the updated versions of the NES titles.


Knowing Nintendo it'll be one release per week though, letterbox on the 15th, pillbox on the 22nd and the ambassador stuff on the 29th
