I saw a Toshiba Laptop in a "flyer" today and want to know what do you think of the specs and price.

    Toshiba 15.6"
HD LED laptop - what's this?

    Intel Pentium B950
    iCore3
    8GB Ram
    500GB HDD

    How good is the processor?

    Price €499

Supplier is Euronics, which seem to be Local electrical stores throughout Ireland.

I mainly use my exisitng Tosh laptop for photo storage, browsing, light photo editing, emailing, spreadsheet work and viewing/listening to TV/Radio programs via Player or Podcasts.

    Thanks in advance.

    iCore3?????
the price tells me its pentium, but if its a core i3 id say go for it,if its pentium well...u can get better for your money,as for the 8gb ram you wont notice the difference between 4 and 8gb from what you have said youl be doing

This will be a perfect laptop for what you said at a much better price.

Like skinny said, you listed two different CPU's there, Pentium being Intels older/slower models Core i3 being some of the newer processors. Core i3 have two different generations though, those with three digit model numbers are older. The one's like in the Lenovo I linked to with four digit model numbers beginning with a 2 are the newer and better/best CPU's.

The Pentium B950 and the iCore3 are both mentioned on the flyer.

One of the reasons I eas looking at this laptop is that it looks like you can pay for in weekly installments of €5 p/week, not sure how at what interest rate.

It cant be the two,so id say its a pentium bt I cud be wrong, regarding the payment plan be careful, the days of just handing laptops on hp are long gone,i know a guy who works Harvey normans where interest free is onli interest free for a certain period nd then bam 29.5%

The problem with all these leaflets is they only show 1/10 of the information needed to properly buy a laptop like. Personally if it doesn't include all the information I need they I don't buy.. Simple as. And also local shops will nearly always be more expensive.

No, I went on their site but it's basically a flyer type website mentioning their stock and deals but you have to call to a store for details.
