    Hello,
Anyone got an opinion on insulation for floors. Got a subfloor on the ground floor with space for ~150mm insulation and 40-50mm insulation on the hollowcore. Does the form of insulation make that much difference i.e eps, pur ??

the form if the insulation makes a difference, but not significantly IMHO.

100 mm PIR will usually equate to a u value of 0.15
    whereas
100mm EPS 50 will usually equate to 0.2

if selcting PIR remember to protect the alumimum foil face from the wet concrete by a layer of 500 gauge dpm.

A major factor in the selection of insulation is the type of heating emmitting source ie rads versus UFH.

In my opinion, the success of the insulation system is more impacted by the attention to detail of the installer, than to the selction of material.

With a concrete first floor, peronally i dont think the material selection is that significant... as the heat isnt lost through the floor...
