whos in the wrong ? a garda in a van pulled out in front of me across the n17 and started driving along the hard shoulder on my side of the road, my turn was to the left a fair bit up ahead so I indicated and pulled in front of the van and took my turn all within the speed limit the garda van had no indicators on so I assume he was just driving straight ahead and was going to pull back out onto the n17, I would have gone behind the van but would not have been able to slow in time as there was a car behind me so rather than slam on an pull in behind him I stuck to the speed limit and pulled in front in plenty of time imo. he then proceeded to follow me all the way back to my house where he stopped outside my address looking at my car then just drove away, I personally think this is the garda throwing his weight about as he should not have pulled into the hard shoulder in the first place.

When you got out of the car you should have ran to the front door as fast as possible just to see what they'd do.

He was just trying to be a hard man. If he had thought of a reason to pull you he would have done it there and then
I got followed home from work a few times at 3am or so. Unmarked car once followed me to the gates, proceeded down the road to the dead end and had to go back past. Noticed them again the next weekend and took a detour and took them for a tour of the parish.:)

I think OP this is all part of the course when your driving a car

thats not run of the mill. Happened to me when i was younger,

    drove few XR3i's, a E30 BMW, and a Nissan 200sx.

The Gardai followed me home a few times, had many a chat to

them about cars and engines when ever i was pulled over,

while they check the tax/insurance, take it as a complement :D.

If your car was stolen would you not be happier knowing that they were keeping an eye out for certain cars?

In these type of situations, its much more likely that something about your car/demeanour/driving style will have given them reason to have a look rather then just boredom.

I wouldnt be blaming the car at all.

I've been driving a Supra since July and I'm yet to be pulled over/followed home in it.

I've actually only been through 1 checkpoint in this time and was waved straight through.

I'd imagine it was either down to the OP's driving, or down to the copper being an idiot.

So, young lad attracts the attention of a Garda, gets followed home, where one can assume the Garda is satisfied nothing untoward has happened, and the Garda is accused of "bullying"?

OP, you have some growing up to do!
