In the process of clearing my credit card and think I'll get rid of it.
With boi at the moment and there's still no sign of their visa debit cards.

Whats the best option at the moment? Just to buy online really
Could get an ulster bank account & visa debit card or get one of the o2 money cards but aware that there's other charges on those when loading.
Have paypal already linked with my a/c but not every site takes them.

    Cheers

you could look into the moneybookers prepaid one. its a tenner up front and you can topup instantly via laser or within a few days by bank transfer.

    (its a prepay mastercard)

I'm in the same boat as the OP. Cleared my credit card a few months back, and had hoped on getting the Visa Debit card before years end, but in typical BOI fashion, they are **** at rolling out new tech.

Signed up to the moneybrookers card just now and it looks pretty good. Certainly better then the o2 money card, as it allows me to top up with Laser. A fair amount of verification needed, but i don't mind that.

Anyone know of any special offers on Debit Cards for 3rd level students?

Moneybookers looks good, but I'm not too sure about the 2% FX commission.

My daugher is with AIB and will want to use this to buy books online..

    Thanks
