Getting solar panels fitted... need recommendation for a shower

Hey guys, I'm looking for some advice here:

We are having solar panels fitted next week along with a new 200 Litre tank in our hot press. One of the major selling points for me was that the sales guy kept pointing out that our electric shower (Mira sport) uses around 10k watts to heat the water for our showers and that it is the biggest consumer of electricity in our house. We assumed that when we got rid of our current electric shower that we would save on our energy bill. I emailed the sales guy and asked him to ask his engineers what shower they recommend to go with their solar panel systems. The answer I got was a Triton Power shower. I have researched power showers on amazon and it appears that they consume around the same electricity as the electric showers on amazon.

I would have thought the power showers use less electricity because they don't heat the water?

So am i right in thinking that I wont be saving on energy at all if I go with the power shower even though I will have a tank full of hot water?

I'd also like to know if its possible to get a regular shower, you know the ones with the hot and cold knobs that we all used a long time ago? Is this the way to go?

The main objective is to try cut our energy bill, hence why we are having our solar system installed.

Would love to hear your opinions/thoughts guys

    Thanks in advance

    Cheers

    Alan

I had this same scenario recently.

I had my solar system installed and have a large rainfall power shower in the ensuite. This shower is fed via the solar system.
I was also advized to go for a power shower in the main bathroom too.

But after some thinkng about it,I decided to keep the Triton T90XR as its fed from the cold tank in the attic and if ever the solar system did fail or needs shut off to be serviced, then at least I have the attic tank fed shower in the main bathroom.
Handy with regards family and young kids.

Mira has a solar shower as well, check their home page.
    Another one here:

    http://www.clage.com/en/product-range/solar-heat/Solartronic.php

The Clage shower takes any warm water, it would not have be pre-warmed by ST energy only. Luke-warm water from the copper barrel would do.
It contains a modulating electric heating element which tops up the temperature to the desired level. So no need to waste energy heating up the entire thermal storage tank once per day to fight bacteria.
