Peugeot 206 problem

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I'm trying to sell a Peugeot 206 cc at the moment but when a couple came to see it last night it wouldn't start, took us about 30 mins but we got it started with jump leads. It hasn't been driven in about 3 weeks.

Also when they took it for a test drive there was a bad noise coming from the rear brakes,

They said if i can get it sorted they’d gladly take the car as it's priced really well. This is because I'm in a bit of a bind at the moment and need to shift it to pay some bills.

I tried to start it again this morning but the battery was flat again.

So the big question is there any advice you could give me to try get this sorted as cheaply as possible. I need to sell it and can't afford to put hundreds into it to get rid of it.

Do you think I’ll need a new battery and if so do you know the best place to get it ? Also I'm hoping it's only the rear brake pads and if so where would be the best place to get this sorted?

    Thanks again lads.

New battery, or possibly take it for a good drive to charge it up, the drive will also remove all the surface corrosion from the brakes which is likely whats causing the noise too.

Make sure to check your alternator is working before buying a new battery!
Youll pick up a cheap one for €40.
Drum brakes can also be a little noisy for a wee while if car has sat long.

Approx €60-€70 for decent brand, you'd get something that'll last long enough to sell it for less.

If there was an alternator problem then the battery light would be on the dash while you drive along.
