So what does everyone think of Meyer taking over at OSU?

I think its a great hiring by the Buckeyes and Meyer is sure to lift the school from a poor season this year. When you look at the success that the Buckeyes had under Tressel its clear that talent wont be a problem and seeing players like Denard Robinson playing in the Big 10 its also pretty clear that Meyer will be able to install a spread system with a dual threat QB Ohio State.
It will also be very interesting to see who he brings in as his assistants and whether they still have the reach into Florida's recruiting territory that Meyer enjoyed with the Gators.

great for the Buckeyes. Not that they need a recruitment boost but its sure to give them one and will inflate any preseason BCS rankings giving them a better chance of a title game if they win out.

I think Meyer will absolutely love working with Braxton Miller next year who I'm sure he sees a lot of Tebow in, and as mentioned, the boost this will give their recruiting is unmeasurable. There's talk that he's allowed put together the most expensive team of coaching staff in college football history too thanks to a huge budget - one of those mentioned is Kirk Herbstreit who I would be absolutely gutted to see leave ESPN.

It would be hard to beat the coaching team he put together at the Gators where he had Charlie Strong, Dan McCarney and Dan Mullen.

I too would miss Herbstreit if he does go coaching, he has been excellent as a color commentator.

The Buckeyes will be fighting for national honours as long as Meyer remains there.

As a Michigan fan, it makes me puke in my mouth a little bit. I was hoping they would have gotten John Cooper v2!

Brilliant for the game. Such a fantastic college coach.

It's already begun. Rivals #9 rated talent in the country, DE Noah Spence, didn't even have Ohio State on his list before speaking to Meyer last night. They're now his #1 choice.

Spence has committed to the Buckeyes. Meyer already working his magic. Going to be a serious force over the next few years.

Do you not think all these bans and sanctions will have an affect?!

Not for recruiting anyway, it's only a one year ban so wouldn't impact most freshmen. The 9 less scholarships is a problem, but they got off lightly there.
