About 9-9:30 this morning. Didnt see what happened, but an ambulance was speeding away and the guards were putting a bike into the boot of their car. Front wheel was totally mangled and hanging off.

Hopefully the cyclist wasnt too badly hurt.

ouch. that's a nasty road, traffic is usually backed up quite a bit, and there's a couple of schools along the way, and the mosque too. Add to that the awful weather this morning too. Wife saw a car crash into a motorbike outside our ladys grove a while back.
    Hope the cyclist is OK.

Sorry, whats nasty about this road?

Nothing apart from tons of mummies in 4x4s and people carriers they can't control.

I go that way every morning. Hope the cyclist is ok

I don't see anything wrong with the road and i live just off it. It has a cycle lane the entire length.

People turning left and not looking is one possible reason. At any rate, speculation is pointless as we don't know who was at fault. How about we just hope it wasn't too serious, that ok with you sugar-plum?

I didnt see a damaged car and /or driver standing around. It was just outside the Clonskeagh house on the heading South, so no junction at that point.

The amount of dopey cyclists at this junction going into UCD is shocking sometimes.
What's that got to do with this thread? Please do not speculate as to cause, or make posts that may be interpreted as implying any fault one way or other
