    Hi,
I'm attempting to wire this device into my car, it preheats fuel.

I connected the glow plug wire onto number 1 glow plug.

I connected the ground wire to the negitive on the battery.

I connected the the red to positive on the battery.

I also have another red on mine which goes to the switch located in the diagram and I connected this to the battery positive.

However when the alliminuim block comes in contact with metal it sparks, what am I doing wrong? Any help would be much appriciated.

    Thanks

Is there instructions with it other than the picture? Is there two glowplugs inside it? At a guess, I think the pic is badly done and that the black wire with glowplug over it is actually another ground wire. If there's written instructions it might clear up what that wire is!

Yes their are two glow plugs inside it. I have the wire you speak of connected to the negitive of the battery is this correct? Is their a difference between negitive and ground?

Is this for running Veggie oil? Looks interesting, where are you taking the water from, or is it a static supply that's heated by a glow plug in the device?

The water is coming from the internal car heater system, which is heated by the engine. The glow plugs get the oil up to temp and then the engine heats the water and thus the glow plugs switch off and the water takes over!

Just having small bit of troulbe with electrical side of things. Still have not got time to plum the water into the system.

Ps, yes it is for veggie oil.

No difference, I just always call it ground! Do you have both of the black wires on the left hand side connected to the negative of the battery (or bare metal)? Or do you only have the furthest left black wire connected to the negative, and the other black wire connected to one of the engines glowplugs?

The one which reads glow plugs is connected to the engines glow plugs? Is this correct?

I'm just after noticing that it says glow plugs on both sides. I'm starting to think connecting it to the glows plug on the car is wrong.

Do I see you using 2 separate pins on the relay for each glow-plug?

Post up a schematic sketch and we can help you better.

I pretty sure that is a ground wire, and should be connected to bare metal on the engine or the chassis. If you have written instructions and/or a schematic then we could be fully sure. (I've never even seen one of these heaters and have never touch a glowplug in my life, so feel free to wait on a second opinion!)

    Well,
I'm after rewireing the setup this time however instead of attaching the wire to the glow plug it is attached to a negitive.

    Works perfect! No more sparking.

    Delighted,
Thanks everyone for all your help!
