PIAB - allow for mileage?

I've clocked up considerable mileage over the past year - between gp visits, ongoing physio, x-rays, etc.

I assume that I can include this in my claim? What's the rate € cents/mile that they use to calculate this??

It took a while but I've managed to put work out my mileage - and have detailed it all out on a spreadsheet. Comes to 1200 miles (so far).

I need to get expenses claim form into PIAB. Therefore, as per my original post, I'd be grateful if anyone could clarify whether there is a standard mileage rate ( €cent / mile ) that can be applied to this? If so, what is it?

I don't suppose the civil service mileage rates could be applied?

The injuriesboard will assess whatever you put in. If they don't agree with it then they won't included it in the assessment.

Should I just use the civil service rate then - reference to this - and see what comes back? ......seeing as these rates are the only ones I've come across to date...

When i went through the IB for my accident claim all out of pocket expenses, which included travel expenses had to be vouched.

Well, I have reasons given beside each and every entry for every journey. If it's completely necessary, that could be corroborated by the healthcare professionals who I set up the appointments with - if they (piab) insist.

When you did go through the process, what mileage rate did you apply - and stick down on the claims form?

I didn't apply a mileage rate. I was not able to drive for about a year after my accident, i was fortunate enough to have a travel pass which covered my bus fares to the hospital 30 miles away, but sometimes time was a bit tight for appointments due to the bus timetable and i would get a taxi from the bus station to the hospital(always walked back though). On one occasion, as i had 2 appointments on the one day a relation drove me up and and i paid the petrol (€20). I lodged the petrol and taxi receipts with the IB and received payment for them. I think i sent copies of the hospital appointment letters to back up the dates/times too (I'm not sure whether it was necessary but i thought it better to provide everything to save holding up the process) I had over 60 physio appointments but the clinic was only a half hour walk from my house so that wasn't an issue.
