Have you tried the mk1 its a square grey box. I use it on my working terrier's its easy to use very very basic. I have tried the mk 2 mk3 they look nice but that's about all for me. And the ferreting collar that goes with mk 1 is nice and small. They can be hard to get these day's.

Yea I had one of them before. And sold it to up grade and worst thing I did wz that. Bellman and Flint do the best job at terrier locators but they are just to big for ferrets and I wz wonderingbif there was any different brand of locators as I find the deben pretty useless

Unfortunatly we are all stuck with Deben:mad: just now and they are a total **** company to deal with,I made enquiries about getting boxes and collars made myself the manufacturing was not the problem the problem was the frequency for them Deben have a licence for that and getting another frequency ect and the minimum quantity to get them produced would cost thousands a big gamble to take when the economy is the way it is ,i still have 2 old grey boxes with colars for my Terriers and for the ferrets, would never part with them
If you look at the inside of the old box and the new box there and much differance just changed in my opinion by Deben to get us to buy a new version of what is basicaly the same as the old Box

The Bellman and Flint are good for finding a terrier when he/she has gone to ground over a large area, but I dont find them as accurate to pin point the terrier or in your case ferret but thats a matter of opinion they have released the mk1 version in the states again look it up on google you may be able to purchase one it would do you for now they could'n be that dear. And who nose in the future bellman and flint may release on for the auld ferret :)
