    Hi all,

I recently bought a gigabit ethernet switch. My desktop only auto negotiates10mbps. I have tried to force a gigabit connection by manually switching the "link speed and duplex" settings to 1gbps but i get a "network cable unplugged" error. If i set it to 100mbps everything works ok. I verified the cable is good by hooking up to my nas which has no problems

intel dp55kg MB on latest bios version
    Intel® PRO 10/100/1000 Network Connection (82578DC)
    i7 processor
    NETGEAR GS108 switch

    Any ideas?
