    I don't remember it being spelled out come to think of it. They'll probably tell you that it has to be functional.

    But I'd say if you are anywhere borderline, they'll push you over the line to get you through.

    You won't fail it for getting a line of program wrong.

    Very important - make sure you get your overloads, and any interlocks, in there correctly.

    Neatness very much counts in your favour when you're actually drawing your ladder diagram, if I remember correctly.

    Is this the Phase 6 written exam for an electrician if so what the hell are you on about in what i have in bold above. Sure you dont write any programs. And make sure you get your overloads and interlocks in there correctly and drawing your ladder diagram. Sure all it is is a straight forward written exam that isn't even hard.

    If you re-read the title of the thread, you will see the words T3 (plc written).

    Now, if -

    T1 is Electrical Science - it says so on the Exam Paper;

    T2 is Electrical Craft Practice - it says so on the Exam Paper;

    then I take that to mean that T3 is the written plc exam. It's hardly the practical, after all.

    Furthermore, I assumed that the question was not about the Electrical Science exam because the instructions for that exam are very well known, since the past papers are easy to come by. 20 questions, all to be answered, 14 for a pass, 17 for a credit.

    In the written plc exam, you are given a written description of an industrial process; and you then go along with a pencil and the supplied ladder-diagram paper... it looks like a written exam to me so far -

    ...and write/draw a ladder diagram that will make the process in question function correctly.

    ps I may be wrong about all of the above, but still - learn some manners.
