At long last the most obvious twist ever is revealed! Now maybe it'll go somewhere interesting. I wonder will Louis turn out to be dangerous as he's probably tracking all Dexter's internet searches. This in addition to having the hand might be something worth watching again.

Finally a decent episode, but they crammed so much into it, it could have been better spread over the season.
Also, while I thought in previous episodes that Quinn was a bit cringy, I thought he was genuinely funny in this episode.
Also, I must admit I skipped back a few seconds at the 'pivotal moment' involving Batista's sister :P

Oh what a twist! Nobody ever saw that coming...

MEH. Might have got excited about it if the twist wasn't so obvious.

With regards to the episode, surely that university has security cameras and the police will look at the security cameras and ask why is Dexter running around with Tom Hanks son.

Aghhhh!!!! Bloody hell do the writer think we are really that stupid?? Such lazy writing! How would gelled even have closed the hatch & then pulled a table over the door to hide it? We did no one check the security cameras? Why was their lights on in the church when dexter and tom hanks junior arrived? How did he get to the church from the hotel?

bring back trinity, hell bring back Miguel!

I wonder if the writers browse the web and now realise how poorly they executed this? I'd love to know if they actually think they fooled people.

Oh and the new intern has a serial killer fetish? How boring. But then nobody's going to question someone who knows techno-wizard terms like "internet protocol" are they! That's spooky high-tech magic!

Dexter running around, not bothering to conceal himself is something I've sadly grown used to in the last few seasons. This is not intelligent drama.

The team of Miami's finest are laughably incompetent. Quinn's a drunk, Deb (one of the few I like) is barely hanging in there, Batista spends more time worrying about his sister than his job, and LaGeurta.. Well LaGuerta's just a c*nt.

Very true, I'd love to work there though. No matter how crap you are at your job you end up getting promoted. Deb went from vice to homicide to lieutenant and LaGuerta went from lieutenant to captain all during a time where Miami is plagued by serial killers and they haven't caught one.

Quinn and Batista should get a spin off comedy show after this episode.

    decent episode tho..

The worst thing for me about the stupid surprise twist is they allowed Dexter to look like a complete clown. Are we really expected to believe Dexter would be that stupid.

    Opr

The writers know what they're doing, much more than you or I, they've produced one of the best tv shows I've ever seen and I'm sure they have a few aces up their sleeves.

The new intern thing is developing into something, recently I've noticed similarities between him and Brian, and now with the possession of the hand from the ice truck killers victim I think theres something to it, possibly another brother of Dexters? Hence his fascination with Dexter?

The team are supposed to be incometent, thats the idea, why do you think LaGuerta is always crowing on about the poor %s of cases solved.

That's part of the problem, at this point in a season, we should have already had basic exposition and development, and should now be in the midst of the exciting points of conclusion and resolution, à la Seasons 1, 2 and 4. Unfortunately we've been given far too much exposition of too many subplots (giving the overall season a lack of trajectory) and while some plots have basically been abandoned (did Mos Def have a bus to catch??) others have only been introduced in the last couple of episodes (the new Captain Matthews controversy). It's all just lacking in direction.

Thanks to shows like The Wire though, we know that in a real police department, that **** wouldn't fly, and people would be getting transferred out of the homicide unit, rather than being promoted within it.

Ok episode in a disappointing season.

The Geller reveal was obvious, like wise the Matthews/dead prozzie angle.

I wasnt really a fan of Deb but Im liking her this season because she is showing some frailty that to this point, considering all that she has been through, has been pretty much ignored.

The intern bit,I dunno.Someone mentioned earlier that there was alot crammed into this episode, too much so I feel tbh.

I did like the bowls of wrath/homage to Carrie bit though.

Overall though,I kinda want this season to be over and hopefully season 7 will pick up where season 4 left off.

I was glad the Gellar "twist" was finally revealed so they could stop pretending to be all clever and mysterious about it. Overall it wasn't an amazing episode. I really just want this season to be over, it's gone off in too many directions and I just can't take it seriously at this point! I'm still enjoying it but I just want this to be wrapped up and a new season to start.

What's up with the poll results being hidden?

With the emphasis on the unsolved murder rate in this series, I'm wondering whether Dexter will be torn between allowing Deb to apprehend the perp, or him dumping the dismembered corpse as usual, and thus leaving an unsolved crime again.
Of course, with Geller's body in the freezer, he could do both, if he somehow gets round the evidence that shows Geller's body's been frozen for weeks.

Most obvious plot line since the movie "Titanic".

    Season was garbage.

Do the writers actually believe they fooled anyone??

So dissappointed with dexter. Just a complete garbage season again where nothing happened. The brief return 2 episodes ago to Jonah had me excited thinking there was some kind of twist to come regarding Trinity, but no. Laziest writing I've ever seen.

What an absolute shambles of a season this is turning out to be! :(

And just when I thought it couldn't get any worse with bloody Lumen last season!

Yeah it was a bit of a disappointing episode alright. Just before Dexter went down to the basement I was beginning to wonder if the writers were giving us false flags with Gellar all along and that he'd really jump out behind Dexter but as soon as I saw the freezer I knew it wasnt to be; pity though as that could have actually been a nice twist from what, lets face it, the whole world was expecting.

I blame the idiot that started the thread.....oh wait! :D Actually I was trying to set it up that they would be hidden until the person voted thus motivating them to add their rating. Bit of a balls up but jeez some people here take their polls very seriously! :D

Well, judging by the reactions here, the writers must clearly have been looking to piss off a good chunk of its fan base. There's no basis for saying they've done something clever here - they thought they were, but nobody was fooled.
They've produced a show that's good in half its seasons and weak in the other half. Not a great track record so I'm definitely not going to give them any benefit of the doubt. That's earned and that's been lost in recent years (S4 even might not have been nearly as good without Lithgow's stunning performance).
Do we know if the same writing team from the earlier seasons are still on the show?
The team are supposed to be incometent, thats the idea, why do you think LaGuerta is always crowing on about the poor %s of cases solved.
They're comically incompetent though. The Chuckle Brothers demonstrate more professionalism than Quinn/Batista did. Michael Scott is a better leader than LaGuerta and he was in a comedy...

I'd have to say that's one of the worst episodes I've seen, absolutely bloody awful.

Like with the whole "Kyle Butler" thing?
