    hi guys,

things have been going very pair shaped lately, i just dunno where to start...

ive been living in a rented apartment that ive been paying for out of my social welfare without claimning rent allowance-becuase my landlord wouldnt take it...anyways ive moved out of my rented apartment and into a hostel very recently...went a bit insane and did a fly by night. what will happen now to my social welfare now that iam living in a hostel???becuase i will have to tell them.

ive also been finding it very difficult to manage paying rent without housing allowance ,and moving into a hostel is just as expensive as what as i was paying...what do you guys think i should do??

on top of all this, i applied for my medical card and i gave them more than the required information at the time and they sent me back a big fat envelope with only one piece of the evidence i supplied to them, with no reasons why my medical card was unsuccessful....

not a happy chappy at the mo.lol...

Living in a hostel should not prevent you getting a Social Welfare payment as long as you have an address and are available and looking for work. Inform the SW of your change of address and bring a letter from the hostel confirming that.

If there is a Citizens Information office near you, they would be a great source of info for you, addresses, phone numbers etc., of the organizations that can help you.

If you are in Dublin, contact the Dublin Regional Homeless Executive
    http://www.homelessagency.ie/

Information on accommodation available to homeless people is available from your local authority and your local HSE Health Office (Ask to speak to a 'Housing Welfare Officer') The Housing Officer may well put you in touch with the Community Welfare Officer at the same office with a view to applying for Rent Supplement in the future when you get a place.

Organizations that would be of help to you, depending on where you are, would be
    Saint Vincent de Paul http://www.svp.ie/Home.aspx
    The Simon Community http://www.simon.ie/
    Focus Ireland http://www.focusireland.ie/
    The Salvation Army http://www.salvationarmy.ie/
