Hotmail issue on a Sensation - can not send emails

Apologies in advance if this is in the wrong place I am unable to send emails from my hotmail.co.uk account using my htc sensation I can receive new emails no problem - but when I try to send or reply the email just goes to my outbox and then does not send Can anyone advise me on what I need to do? Presumably my settings…

I can receive new emails no problem - but when I try to send or reply the email just goes to my outbox and then does not send

Can anyone advise me on what I need to do?

Presumably my settings need to be altered ?- but I dont know what needs to be done

( I can send and receive gmail emails no problems)
