I was just about to but sent them an email to see if the Fire comes with a UK/Irish power adaptor - I'm, worried it comes with US voltage as standard

    Hi

From the WOT scorecard they seem to be pretty bad.
Appalling service. Very suspicious business practice. Phone-line staff are all muppets (this is a major understatement). They even asked me to send photocopies of my credit card and a utility bill AFTER my credit card payment had been authorised. AVOID!!! "
Advertises as UK firm, but ships from Hong Kong. There will be customs issues if you order from within EU.

That is a super useful site, thanks for the link. They even have a nice chrome add on.

The adapter goes from 110-240 volts, and is powered through a small USB so even if you were woried there are easily bought in tesco etc, There used on blackberries, androids, soem nokias and many others.

Kindle Fire arrived from Simply Electronics within 8 working days. I experienced good customer care with them, my email on the order was replied within 12 hours and I was given a DHL tracking number.

It came with the US adapter but I purchased a cheap uk adapter and cover on amazon.

You could turn to the store where sell it to have a try, but seems best buy, target and staples, all devices for the kindle fire were locked in demo

It works perfect, good browser with 2meg broadband. Excellent for the books and night reading. I have not been bothered with the app store yet.

How do you download to it without a US CC Billing address?

It works fine downloading same as other kindles with my Amazon a/c with an Irish address.

Just at present they are not selling the device directly to non-us.
