walking around dublin recently brought me back to my teenage years listening to great irish bands all from the North Dublin area, i'm thinking of whipping boy, rollerskate skinny, sack, power of dreams, revenants, a house, bawl, the pale, in motion, brilliant trees, revelino and mexican pets, i'm probably after leaving out another half dozen .

All the above bands were totally individual, literate, political, full of anger and intelligence.

i'm sounding a bit like jimmy rabbitte now but i suppose i'm wondering where are the new generation, especially now that the country is gone to the dogs,

Dublin's so small it's silly to restrict a thread to North Dublin bands.

Jape is from Crumlin, he/they are great.

A House and Power of Dreams are from the Southside (Walkinstown/Templeogue)
