Considering money is not so plentiful this year.

If you had the choice between two presents, say they both cost €70 but one of them was second hand?

Say one was a standard example of a.. say radio and the other one was a high spec example that had 6months use. Better options and looked nicer.

To me i'd jump i'd prefer the second hand one.

Would you mind recieveing a second hand present this christmas ???

I suppose it depends on what it is.
If it was something I really wanted and It was well though out and the second hand item was in perfect nick then no worries.
But there are inappropriate second hand pressies too, I have an aunt who's a right wagon for regifting unwanted pressies back to the person who gave them it in the first place...

But as I said if its in good condition and its a thoughful pressie then brilliant and I'm sure it will be appreciated especially in these tough times...

I know I'll get slated for it, but I think re- gifting is a great idea. We got quite a few bits an pieces for the wedding that we already have or that we just won't use and I will definitely be re- gifting them eventually. Appropriately of course, I won't give them to people unless I'm sure they'll use them. I really hate waste.

My mother is delighted with a bottle of champagne someone gave her for us that I said she can keep, she was going to post it over! She'll probably leave it in a glass cabinet for about 10 years waiting for a "special" occassion

I second that! I'm not one for re gifting either!

If the other person isn't opposed to the idea then well and good.
I tend to exchange things that I don't like so if it was 2nd hand that would be pretty hard to do!

Christmas eve is when presents are opened in our house and if i got a second hand present then christmas dinner would be cancelled.
    I kid you not. :p

I was thinking along the lines of a single green block. I'm a generous type person. :)
