I smashed screen on my Samsung Galaxy S2:( Absolutely devastated!

i got a quote of 190 to get screen replaced but was wondering if anyone else could recommend a cheaper fix.

    No...I didn't have it insured!!

You probably could. But the screen wouldnt be as good and might cause some problems further down the road. As far as im aware the SAMOLED+ screens themselves arent that cheap.

Even the cheap LCD replacement screens from China are around 100 euro on ebay so i mean 190 probably isnt that bad.

I bought a replacement screen on EBAY for €125 delivered. I'm sorry I didn't see this.

It looks very tricky replacing the screen. I've watched people doing it on youtube and read some horror stories in forums of it going wrong.

Chinese guy in Bray near the dart station - very good and very reasonable. 01- 204-1672. Got my HTC fixed there last year and very satisfied.
