    Hi all,

Really silly question. Out at the house recently. Rewire and replumb going on so lots of upheaval and chasing of walls.

We saw a load of ...rubble....I suppose, in the cross-space. Will they put the floor boards down over it or should I expect them to clean it out?

    Thanks again

It depends , did they put it there or was it there , if it was there already the workers could get offended if you tell them to remove it , who would you approach to remove it , which trade , the electrician is not going to want to remove the plumbers rubble and vice-versa , anyway what harm is it going to do there , once the floorboards go down itll never be seen. and its not doing any harm , i personally clean as i go but bringing up something like that to the workers could upset them , and you know what they say " a happy worker is a good worker" , but on the other hand your paying them and its your house.

    Thanks for the reply.

Yeah, its new rubble. Its mainly from the builders but the chasing is from the electricians. Theres just a surprising amount there. I guess I just wanted to know that it won't damage anything.

I'm really keen not to be looking over anyones shoulder but I want it right too. As you say, its our house and we're paying.

    Thanks again.

If you have a builder employed then mention it to him, like sullzz we clean as we go, aside from a clean work place being a safe work place it also means no small (often invaluable) tools are not lost in the mess.

If they are still chasing the walls they may have one major clean up planned, sadly a lot of the younger tradesmen were not taught to clean up because during the boom time was all money and someone else might clean up for them.

Its your house and he who pays the piper..........

Bad practice, make sure it's cleaned out.
I'd keep an eye on other things as well, now is the time to speak up.
