    Hello.
Have recently had bathroom tiled by a supposed professional, grouting not correctly done & had to be scraped out. In so doing a few tiles have scratches & surface chips. Will they eventually deteriorate or become cracks? Should I remove & replace now ?
    Thanks.

When you remove grout it does tend to chip the tile. Provided the tile is porcelaine it wont get any worse however if its a ceramic and a different color base to the top then it can start to look very dirty over a short space of time.

Did you check the tilers references?

Joey, Thanks for the response. We did not make a thorough check of his references, we were hasty because we had a dispute with a tiler we had lined up & then had to move quickly to get another. The tiles are ceramic & have a reddish background, so I guess we are in the problem zone, as per your notes. I think I will pay this guy most of his money & move him on, & hold a reasonable spare set to rectify in the future.
Thankfully the other tradesmen in the same project (insulation, electrical, plumbing etc) were excellent & overall the job is OK, just a pity for 1 git to take the enjoyment out of it.

You can buy tile acid to clean the wall. However it wont stop the chips and the dirt getting in on the floor.

As you say there is not much you can do.
