Location Services staying on

    Hi
    anybody notice the Location Services staying on even though I have
    closed all Apps down that was using it.

    I would kill all by apps by double click home button and hold on app
    then click on red icon to kill App.

    But the location services arrow stays on beside battery level.

    Iphone 4S IOS 5.01 Carrier O2

    Have look in settings and see what apps are enabled to use location services. You should be able to see what app is currently using it.

    strange siri was using it and a couple of other apps that I had killed off

    turn Location services off for siri robooted phone

    now its back on WTF

    Do you have any "When I arrive" or "When I leave" reminders?

    I've found they trigger it too. You have to be sure you've marked them as done even if they've already triggered the alert.

    no Reminders for location

    My only solution is to turn off Location Services in settings
    and turn it back then the arrow disappears

    I had the very same problem after doing the OTA update to 5.0.1.
    The location arrow would stay stuck after I closed the app completely.
    I decided to do a full restore in iTunes and it has fixed it.
    I think the OTA update is buggy and it's best to do a full restore instead of the incremental updates until Apple fixes it.

    I didn't update and I had the problem until I powered off and back on again. Fine since

    Did a few more reboots seems to have fixed the problem

    arrow disappeared soon as I close Apps

    Do you have the Golden Pages App?
    I found there is a bug in this app that uses location services all the time and had to disable it for this app

    yes I do started the app and quess what location services stays on

    I disable the location services for that app

    Yeah, I had to disable location services for Golden Pages a while ago due to the same problem.

    Do you use Foursquare? If so, the latest versions have a "radar" icon on the top left corner of screen. If its switched on, location services are used even after you close down the app.
