Anyone know where I could get some single use cameras loaded with black and white film? I've tried all the camera shops in Cork, Boots and the pound shops. I found some on Macodirect.de but the minimum order and €20 shipping is too much.

My plan is to go out with my friends some day over the Christmas holidays (none of whom are into photography,) give them a disposable camera to use as they please over the day, then process their film myself and have a get together where we look at everyones' prints.

Ilford do them, with some B&W pre-loaded, you might pick them up im gunnes. Ideally though you want to pick one up with C-41 B&W film loaded instead of proper B&W so that you can get it developed anywhere. As above gunnes is probably your best bet, or you could try conns or the camera exchange.

    Alternatively, shoot colour :-)

That's the thing you see... :)

I just bought a load of darkroom equipment to develop Black and White myself. Apart from the photographing as a group, me developing the pictures was supposed to add a personal touch to the "present."

And someone has already mentioned Gunn's to me on Photography Ireland. So I'll be phoning them tomorrow (I'm based in Cork.) It helps that Gunn's were really friendly when I visited them a couple of weeks ago.

oh right, by 'develop myself' in the original message I thought you meant 'drop into a pharmacy myself'.

In that case, yeah, gunnes is probably your best bet, but just make sure that whatever one you get ISN'T loaded with c-41 B&W :) It'll be very hard to print through, though certainly not impossible.

    Neat idea.
