Oven not heating on fan setting?

I have a Zanussi Fan oven and everything works (Grill, non-fan oven mode), but turning the oven on with the fan setting just blows cold air?

I thought initially it was the element, but as the oven heats up and works without the fan, I think the element is Ok. Anyone have any ideas what it could be?

some ovens have a wrap around element for the fan oven
this is a separate element from the grill one

also just check that the controller is not on auto(manual is what you want)

Thanks for that - I knew about the separate elements, I find it odd that the 'normal' oven mode works perfectly (it's a single oven), but in fan mode it won't heat up. This leads me to think there is a separate element for the fan mode, going to take the back off tonight and have a look.

How would I check the controller setting?

I encountered a similar situation with my mother's oven a few months back...

There was a seperate element around the fan which had given up the ghost. Replaced it and it's working fine since.
