trying to get my speakers back to factory settings

I don't know what I have done but my speakers seem to be set to too high frequency. If i turn them up to less than half way, there is a terrible feedback sound. I was trying to use the sound recorder and played about with the settings but now I can't rem what way they SHOULD be set. I even went into the sound settings box and turned everything down to the lowest point and have the same problem. Should I just do a system restore? Thanks

You didn't give Laptop Model - I messing with mine their and don't actually see a reset button.

You can try a restore, it won't do any harm, if that doesn't work you could try deleting the audio driver in Device Manager and Restart Computer.

Or just fiddle with the Sound Options, their isin't much into them.

Is your audio volume config showing all possible sliders?
Id have thought maybe your mic volume was maxed and turned on. What happens if you disable it?

I have disconnected the phones but same issue. Tried the sound recorder controls. Same issue. Think i'll try system restore. My speaker used to go to the max before, no problem but now 30% volume and head wrecking feedback!

    Does it happen through headphones?
