    Hi

i used to play love playing crash bandicoot so i thought now that my little girl has a dsi i would get her a crash game or two for it. But, and this is where i need help. When i look for the games, im not sure if they are for the ds or dsi. Is it just the gameboys that have the inserts of the big sqaure thing in front or are they the little disk.

Im afraid to buy them incase there not compatitble for the dsi (as there is no front compartment for games)

When searching all you get to see is the box and not the game itself so i dont know what to do. If anyone could help that would be great, would love to pass on my love of crash thank you

Basically there's two different types of games, there's the "Gameboy Advance" cartridges + there's the newer "DS cartridges"

The Gameboy Advance titles will only work on a Gameboy Advance, the original DS or a DS lite.
Gameboy Advance titles will say "Gameboy Advance" on the front and will look like this: http://media.giantbomb.com/uploads/0/7464/873717-6a00d83452033569e200e54f27386f8834_800wi_super.jpg
They won't fit into a DSi.

(A DSi is basically the same as a DS, but it won't play GBA games and has a few added bonuses like a camera)

DS games come on small card type things...That looks like this: http://data.tumblr.com/6811541_r2_500.jpg

They'll work both on DS and DSi.

The GBA appears to have a couple of Crash titles but these won't be compatible with your DSi. :(

Crash games available for DS include
"Crash Boom Bang" with is a party game and not like the old Crash platform games you would be used to.

It seems to get pretty bad reviews on Amazon so i'd say it should be avoided!

Then there's the 2007 title "Crash of the Titans". Again i personally haven't had experience with it but it seems to get pretty decent reviews on amazon.

And then there's the 2008 title: "Crash Bandicoot Mind Over Mutant"

I don't know if there's any more titles available but you should look into those two! Maybe looking into a Mario series game or Kirby might also be useful :)

Handheld versions of Crash Bandicoot are absolutely nowhere near as good as the Playstation originals.

My suggestion would be to get an original Playstation (they cost next to nothing, should be able to find one on adverts.ie), the original games and play them on that. It'll be major nostalgia for yourself and a lot more enjoyable.

Here's a nice little slim one for €35

Your right about the nostalgia, i guess il just have to let her on to have her own memories of games.

Maby il make a sneaky purchase of ps and a crash game ;) thought i would be too old for it but age is only a number ha:rolleyes:

you would think they would make a new version of it just like mario. Mad dog should pull there socks up.

    thanks
