Painting the outside of a house

    Hi All
    If I want to paint my house in baby pink and paint my roof black with a guinness glass, would I need planning for this. Thanks Oliver

    No, unless it is a protected structure or within the curtilage of a protected structure, or if your painting could be construed as advertising.

    Why does it be in planning permission that no colour compounds be on th ewall for 10 years. This was in mine and also a few people i know who got aproaved

    Just check that painting wont contravene a condition of your planning permission if applicable.

    Not that i stuck to them conditions. I painted my house a few weeks after it was floated with plaster. I couldnt see the council doing much if you where even caught going against this condition.

    Are all the other houses in your row painted baby pink?! It may not be considered exempt development if the appearance is inconsistent with the character of the structure or of neighbouring structures
