hi, i am absolutely devastated about getting my iphone4 stolen last week, mainy coz of photos on there i hadn't backed up. i had findmyiphone installed on it but 2 hours later when i discovered it was gone, the phone had been switched off, there was 30% charge when i left. i reported it stolen, i even gave the IMEI number from it's original box, the telephone person said that phone was 'blacklisted' and would show up if someone tried to connect to the net with it. my question is though, is it possible that someone can use this by wiping all the phone info off off it including IMEI number etc or is this phone useless to the person who stole it now? can they 'jailbreak' or wipe it to start again with it? should it show up again sometime for me? will i get an email when it shows up? can all relation to me of it be removed? is there a gps log available on line to show where it last was? i think i heard something about this in the media before? any help and i would be very grateful, regards, P

Keep checking Find My iPhone. I'm pretty sure, it's tied to the device so even if the sim card was switched, it should still be possible to find

The phone will be blacklisted on the network it was on, if the iphone was sim free it will be usable on any other network. If it was on IOS5 and sim locked it will be useless as there is currently no unlock for the latest baseband

The phone will be unuseable on ALL irish networks once reported to an irish carrier. The only option for usage is abroad or text messages. Sadly, a lucrative market im sure, particularly for the higher tier phones such as the iphone, galaxy and the HTCs.

That's what I thought but I've seen differently recently.
Barred by o2 - barred o2 and tesco
Barred by Vodafone - barred Vodafone only
Barred by meteor, 3, eMobile - barred on all 3

I've an o2 blacklisted stolen recovered 3GS here and I recently tested this with a customers blacklisted meteor iphone4 bought on adverts.ie
