    Hi All

Decided it was time to wire my first car stereo
its a goodmans stereo and a 2000 vw golf
all the wires on the stereo are not the same colour as the one in the car
long story short a little bang and little puff of smoke came from the stereo

    is it fried ?
    do i need new one?
    thanks so much

Did you use an iso block or how did you wire em? I'd imagine you blew the fuse and probably fried a few wires. Did it smoke only when the radio was powered on or when you re-connected your car battery? (assuming you had it disconnected the whole time)

I'd say it is not looking good if you got smoke.

As an aside there used to be joke about Lucas electric systems in old cars.
