Venue advice

    Hi All,

My fiancée and myself (who else!) are in the early stages of arranging to be married in August 2012 in Ireland. We are beginning to make the early choices that determine where we will have the wedding, whether it is in Dublin or somewhere down the country.

Our situation is that we intend for the wedding to be small, civil and with perhaps 40 to 45 people in attendance with somebody from the registry office traveling to the venue. As an optional thing if we can we'd like to invite others to the afters, but we are not sure if this is normal accommodated by a venue.

We have read around online, but there’s nothing like hearing it straight from the horse’s mouth (so to speak). Are there any people on boards.ie that would recommend a particular venue that sounds in line with what I am saying that they’ve used in a similar situation, or have any advice on where we should begin to look?

    Thanks in advance!

Hi TwoBiTwo, are you interested in a hotel wedding or something different. City Hall is a beautiful venue for a civil ceremony and then maybe to a restaurant? You can do a lot to make the day very personal for the two of you

PS I dont have any connection with City Hall, I have suggested this quite a bit but just for how beautiful it is and how it contributes to the ceremony

    City Hall
