ipad 2 not charging

    does the ipad 2 only charge via the plug socket or should it charge with computer usb connection?

    my battery is showing half full/empty and is plugged into pc/itunes but says Not Charging beside it.

    Is this normal? I'm new to the ipad but have had alot of iphones so I know they normally charge when plugged into pc..

    Unless it's one of those high-speed USB ports, it'll say that.. but it will still charge albeit slowly (probably will take 8 - 10 hours give or take).

    Keep it plugged in for an hour and go back to see it - and you'll notice it's gone up a few percent.

    ok... isn't there a setting in windows to check what speed the usb is running at or allow it to run faster when its on charge? mines always on charge so wouldnt annoy me that

    There isn't enough power coming off your PC's USB socket to charge (less than 1/4 what is needed)

    Yeah it wont charge off the pc (in general), it will charge off a mac mini tho :confused: So the plug is your main option really.

    Is it jailbroken by any chance?
    I'd a problem with a jailbrOken4 that wouldn't charge from pc and a restore was the only fix

    As already said, many PC's/laptops wont charge it. I have a top of the line IBM laptop in the office (model from this year) and it doesnt charge it! Just not enough juice from the USB

    It should charge from any apple computer though and obviously the mains plug.
