I might get one of those LIDL satellite kit's when ever lidl next have them.

im not mad into this stuff and don't want a all singing all dancing one, i want to use this in my bedroom.

Im wondering will it be ok and work? (south of ireland i live) and will i have to install it outside or next the to window??

The camping kit only really makes sense if you want something that's easily portable or don't want or need a permanent (or robust) installation that will function in all weathers.

I recently had one set up looking through an open window, in fairly murky weather & had no trouble getting usable signals from several satellites (28, 23.5, 19, 13 & 7 degrees east). It wouldn't be much good in heavy rain though, as the dish is too small to give any extra margin of signal.

Should be fine. I bought one either the first or second time Lidl had them, must be at least 5, possibly 6, years ago now, and it's done me fine ever since. Gets you all the Free to Air (FTA) channels. If you point your dish at 28.2 degrees East these are the channels you get http://www.lyngsat.com/28east.html.

The dish (60cm usually with Lidl kits) is a bit small & doesn't always keep the Eurobird channels (I think they are on 28.5E rather than 28.2E), that would be my only criticism.

If you want this for a fixed place i.e. your bedroom, I would fix the dish with a wall mount (rather than leaving it in the case as suggested for camping use), and run cable from there into the attic, presuming your bedroom has an aerial point wired up already. It doesn't need to be near a window, just pick the best spot for installation, wherever you would expect to see a Sky dish installed.

Do you already have a satellite dish up? If so and only have a single lnb, simply swap it for a quad lnb.
You can then connect up cable to it and run it to your bedroom, pick up a cheap fta box or even an old Sky box without a card and viola-satellite tv in your room.
Lidl camping systems aren't any good for setting up permanently on a house-our weather will destroy the flimsy dish.
A quick search on adverts.ie would source you a cheap Sky dish and a box to get you started if you don't want any expense.
BTW the dish won't work inside a window, signal will drop out from the double glazing and rain on the glass.

It's really only good for Perfect weather or camping SE England, (or France and Germany with local French and German TV). It's not big enough for camping here. I have an 80cm dish for camping :)

It's no use at all for Permanent Irish Install. A Freesat HD box and solid dish of 60cm in SE Ireland to 80cm in far West Ireland.

What's the size of the LIDL camping dishes?

Last one I saw advertised was only 45cm. Good for Europe only. Someone like satworld have sky dish and quad LNb for under €30

server seems to be down just now

Also going off the subject of the camping kit satellite kit for a second!

Does LIDL still sell the house satellite kit, i saw one ages ago! do they still have them?

Not worth buying even when they do. Dish brackets usually not robust enough. The Satellite receivers too are inferior to a "Freesat HD" box for UK channels, the boxes are best for German/Italian etc at 13E and 19E with decent dish (90cm, though 70cm to 75cm may do in South West.) bought separately .

They have them in their warehouse clearance sale (Portlaoise, Mullingar & Limerick) for €59.99 next weekend.

But as others have said, unless you want something that fits into a small case & runs off 12V etc., probably best avoided.

    Blessing in disguise.

Try here-I found enough stuff to do an install for less than €50.
