For those of you that have read the Da Vinci code you will know about many of the theories in the book behind things like Religion, we here believe that Religion is a scam; a cash scam. Most Religions require a forced "donation". Now I can see that Religions rely on donations to keep the services going but why force? It seems to me that Religious groups were formed as money scams for wealthy ex-buisness men; bankers & taxmen.

I don't know what I make of this,

I do often wonder why Churches are always eager to take "donations" from us but I dont know if I beleive all major religions are a scam. Thoughts?

Ever since the dawn of man there's usually been religions of one sort or another.

It helps explain the impossible, the natural phenomena, tied with ceremony and tradition (funerals, marriages, births, etc), a blueprint for living, a guide, a form of law, a form of governance, etc, etc.

And as long as religion has existed there has always been man to abuse it, some religions has ever been created solely for the abuse of power/money, e.g. scientology or people paying to get into heaven (during the Renaissance)

Could you elaborate on this please?

    What is thunder?
    Why are we here?
    Where did everything come from?

    That kind of thing.

Thunder is the sound energy that accompanies the discharge of ionised storm clouds. It's simply a larger, louder scale of the cracks you hear and flashes you sometimes see when you take off a wool jumper. No great mystery.

As for "why are we here". That's more of a philosophical question. Science explains the sequence of events that led to us arriving at our current place in the universe. Religion doesn't. Nor does religion explain the "why are we here" question.
I can't really tell you why we are here any more than I can tell you why we didn't evolve the ability to fly or to live forever. Life just evolved that way according to conditions existant on the planet.

Religion doesn't explain a thing. It merely answers the "why" questions with a pathetic "because it just is, ok!"

what is the conspiracy? "Religion is a scam"? like Scientology?

depends on the religion, the only one i think is not a scam is being a Pastafarian ... but yeah religion is about money mainly ... then power (with which comes money) and not to mention control ...

the stupid and gullible follow organised religion without questioning it ... but then again they'll follow anything that saves them from having to think ...
