3DS update (why I hate nimtendo)

So I bought Mario today but nimtendo hae built in a required update. No problem.
Except you can't update the 3ds unless you have full battery . Even when plugged in.

So now I have to sit here and wait :(

Thought I would have a little rant to pass the time

I also hate iPad and autocorrect!

Anyone know is it possible to bypass the battery requirement?

Its there to make sure there's no power loss during the update which would brick the system. Unwise to bypass it if there were a way.

Stick on the kettle sure :)

Seems the 2.2 update was released to disable R4-type flash carts.

Did it really require a full battery or was being on the mains and having a minimum of like 20% (i think) not sufficing? i thought it was the case before...

I updated the one I just bought for Mario an hour ago, and I wasn't plugged into the mains, only had 40% power, worked fine.

Actually it was released to make mario kart 7's online easier.
It adds a "join game" to the friendlist, and makes it all sorts of better.
The next update will be soon (rumoured to be the 30th) and will add video recording among other things.
Blocking flash carts is just a by-product.

Yeah it's such a hassle. We should start a petition to allow us to update the firmware of teh 3DS while the battery is dead :P

Hehe, it went through after about 20 minutes.
I understand the intention now, it's to add ome longevity to what appears to be the shortstr game I've ever played :)

Cool, hopefully that means I've a bit more to look forward to. On world 6 after about 3 hours playtime. Have a couple of stars to go back for but nothing major.
Then the 3ds goes back into hibernation...

mario kart i can take or leave - at this stage I've owned almost every single one and they are too repetive for me now.
last one i enjoyed was on the GBA, the rest i find are all too easy - a criticism i would heavily aim at SM3DL after i finsihed world 6 in 20 minutes or so :(

RE wont be out for 2 more months so still a fair bit of a wait there.

the only other option to keep it going is the estore but i wouldnt be falling over myself to pay 10eu for games that costs 69c on iphone either...

its a sad situation for a console with such great potential to be in
